Volunteer

Running an animal sanctuary requires a lot of labor and work-No experience Needed! Chores on animal sanctuary can vary depending on the farm angels needs, but they often include giving food and water, cleaning living spaces, and general maintenance around the farm sanctuary. Volunteer opportunities are by APPOINTMENT ONLY, so please ensure to contact us for additional information!

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering has the benefit of being surrounded and the chance to interact with the farm angels. It is good for your emotional, physical, and mental health. It has been scientifically proven that spending time with animals helps lower your stress levels and blood pressure!

You gain professional and life experiences. By volunteering, you develop new skills as well as building upon your own strengths. This also helps with resume building! The more skills and job experience you have on your resume, the more desirable you are to an employer. Along the same lines as your resume, being a volunteer also builds your list of references.

Lastly, the farm angels are seeking what we seek. They want to be warm, not cold. They want to be safe, not vulnerable and unprotected. They want to be seen, heard, and loved, not invisible. They want to be themselves, not somebody else. They want to forget the pain of their pasts, and with your help they can!

Things To Keep In Mind

Dress Appropriately

Wear jeans, t-shirt, and closed footwear that you won't mind getting dirty. The farm angels are very friendly and most aren't shy to welcome you to the sanctuary.

Leave your jewelry, especially loose and dangly earing, at home.

Recommend keeping your hair up in a bun. Some of the farm angels may mistake pony tails or long hair for rope toys.

Bringing gloves, hats, water, and other items to help protect you from the Arizona elements is also highly encouraged.

For safety purposes, entry will NOT be allowed for those with flip flops or attire that is not fit for volunteer work on a farm sanctuary.

Age of Volunteers

We welcome volunteers since help is always needed and appreciated at Farm Angels Sanctuary.

AGE RESTRICTION: Volunteers must be 10 years of age or older.

Volunteers between 10 and 18 years old  MUST be accompanied by a guardian, relative, or sponsor over the age of 18 years old.

To volunteer, one will certify that he/she/they is physically fit for this activity, and has/have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. Additionally, one will certify that there are no health-related reasons and/or problems, which preclude participation in this activity.

While Volunteering, Please Refrain From Posting On Social Media

The farm angels are very friendly and most aren't shy to welcome you to the sanctuary. They are always excited to welcome new visitors and may potentially climb, jump, or run with joy unexpectantly. With that said, it's not safe for volunteers to be distracted while working on the sanctuary.

We don't want you to go viral for the wrong reason because of distractions. Above all, it's for the safety on YOU and our farm angels.

But don't worry! After all activities are complete, the opportunity for photos and more will be available for everyone as a thank you.
